Making My Film Debut in New York. Next stop - Hollywood :D

Taking part in the making of a movie about classical music :)

So this happened! :) It was last minute, totally out of the blue, totally unexpected and the only day I happened to be available was the day - this past Monday August 27th, 2018 :) !!! So... it was meant to be:

Ok, so I was invited to take part in Nicole "Nick" Alexander's film based on Terrence McNally’s Master Class (the life of Maria Callas), featuring MET opera star Isabel Leonard as Maria Callas. Me: I was a Julliard girl, opera student attending the master class. I guess I can still pass for a college girl ;) I have never done this before and they even spotlighted me and another actor - a lot of lights and umbrellas were near our faces, we had to repeat the scene 2-3 times until directors were happy. Lol but as a pianist I have attended tones of master classes so I knew how to react to all the Callas jokes. It was a lot of fun. Here is a photo of me and Isabel right after the film shooting. She had to stay longer but I already changed. Below this photo I will post more photos of my 70s outfit lol - the skirt is so not Tania skirt but it all worked out. I loved the 70s hair and make up (see more photos from the make up/hair dressing room), the earrings matching the blue top. The AC so high, it was freezing so these clothes actually ended up making me feel warm :) I will let you know when the film is out and I am supposed to receive a reel of the scene with me, so stay tuned :) my movie debut? Haha lol only in New York. The shooting was in New York (at the Engelman Recital Hall on Lexington Avenue).

Fantastic review about Tania's Rhythmic Movement on Mainly Piano:
“Bursting with energy and with chops to burn, Tania Stavreva just might be able to reignite a bigger interest in classical music - especially with young people. ..dazzling, with jaw-dropping technique, precision, and a palette of brilliant tonal colors.“ - MainlyPiano.com  Click HERE to read full review

Rhythmic Movement & Theater!

Rhythmic Movement is featured in Greenhouse Ensemble's podcast Episode 1 (Tania starts around 26:00) and she is mentioned at the end too. Remember, Rhythmic Movement was the theme for Caliban from The Tempest when Tania was working with a theater company on off Broadway few years ago. She later developed it into a full piece and it became the title of her debut album too. It was the 1st time when Tania also started officially to compose. "It is so great to be in this podcast that talks a lot about theater, photography, art, since Rhythmic Movement was a part of a theater production too" says Tania. Click HERE to go to the podcast.
